This issue, known as food security, exists when all people have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food. However, the ongoing shift in our global climate is disrupting this balance. Climate change and food security are now deeply linked, as rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns threaten the stability of our global food systems.

Extreme Weather and Crop Destruction

One of the most visible ways climate change affects our food supply is through extreme weather events. In recent years, farmers have faced more frequent and severe droughts, floods, and storms. For example, prolonged heatwaves can dry out the soil, making it impossible for crops like corn or wheat to grow. Conversely, heavy rainfall and flooding can wash away essential topsoil and drown entire harvests.
