In May 1775, just weeks after the initial clashes at Lexington and Concord, a small group of American colonists achieved a surprising and pivotal victory. Led by Ethan Allen, the Green Mountain Boys, and Benedict Arnold, they captured a British stronghold in upstate New York without a major exchange of fire. While the engagement itself was brief, the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga importance cannot be overstated.
