The relationship between archaeology and anthropology is fundamental because they work together to create a complete picture of the human experience across thousands of years.

In many parts of the world, archaeology is considered one of the four main pillars of anthropology. This connection exists because both fields share the same ultimate goal: understanding how humans behave and how societies function. While a cultural anthropologist might visit a living village to interview people about their traditions, an archaeologist investigates the same types of social issues by looking at the objects people left behind. One of the most important aspects of the relationship between archaeology and anthropology is the way they bridge the gap between the past and the present.
