If you mention a specific journalism program, explain how your work on the high school newspaper makes you a perfect fit for that program. Do not just list what the school has; explain what you will do with those resources.

Start with a brief hook that highlights your primary interest. Use the body paragraphs to detail two or three specific reasons why the school is the right fit. Conclude by summarizing how you will contribute to the campus community. Keep the structure tight and focused on the 'fit' between you and the institution.

Avoid 'the brochure effect' where you simply list facts about the school that anyone can find on the website. Also, avoid focusing too much on the location or the prestige of the school. Admissions officers want to know about the academic and social environment, not the weather or the rankings.
