Sharing your essay for feedback
Share links let you send a clean reading view of your essay to someone else. Reviewers do not need an EssayGenius account, and you stay in control of whether they can only read or also leave comments.
Open Share from the editor header
The Share action opens a modal for the current essay. If no link exists yet, create one there. EssayGenius generates a public URL you can copy and send immediately.
Choose the right access level
You can keep the shared page read-only, show or hide your author name, require a password, and set an expiration window. Turn comments on only when you want reviewer feedback on the public page.
Collect comments without sending people through signup
When comments are enabled, reviewers can open the link, enter a name, highlight passages, and leave anchored feedback directly on the shared essay. That keeps the feedback tied to the exact sentence or paragraph they mean.
Review comments back in the editor
On your side, open Review and switch to the Feedback tab to see active reviewer comments, filter them, and resolve them as you revise.
Revoke access when you are done
The same Share modal lets you remove the link later. Once removed, anyone using that URL loses access to the shared page.
Share links are meant for feedback and review, not for final locked submission. If you need a file to upload elsewhere, use document export instead.
